Power and performance with a craftsman's touch

Born from a craftsman's love of vintage baseball, Phoenix now produces contemporary bats in a state-of-the-art, custom bat manufacturing shop in Ohio. Using only premium-grade woods, and shaped on the premiere lather in the industry, Phoenix delivers the highest quality consistently, from bat to bat, year to year. Approved for use by Major League Baseball players in 2000, demand has grown every year from players at every level, mostly by word of mouth from thousands of very satisfied customers across the country. The Phoenix brand has become synonymous with power, craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Follow these steps to get your hands on a Phoenix...
1. Start by choosing your model...

Phoenix Bats founder Charley
Trudeau explains 3 of the most
popular models.

Shape is a combination of barrel size & taper - do you want a bat with a long straight barrel and a quick taper to a thin handle? Do you want a bigger bat and a flared knob?

Use the menu below to see and read up on each Phoenix Pro model to understand the shape, taper, and weight factors. If that leaves you uncertain, call us or send an email and ask for help.

Choose from the model list above to review product details. Look for differences in barrel taper, knob, and end-weighting. Length is a personal preference. Depending on the model chosen the weight will vary, usually somewhere between -2 and -3 drop. (The weight will be length - drop.).

2. Now choose your wood...
WOOD MAPLE ASH
"Solidness" of wood Stronger - not much "give" Less dense - more flex
Grains Denser, less visible grain (engraves better) Mix of straight grain and oval air pockets
Pros More pop for bigger hits
Better finish
Used by more pros
Larger sweet spot (more contact)
Less expensive
Better choice if first wood
Cons More expensive Less pop

Phoenix has a reputation for being the pickiest of bat manufacturers - rejecting wood others will accept. They take their lumber seriously. All bats are available in either Rock Maple and Northern White Ash, and there are differences. The chart shows pros and cons.

A rule of thumb: if you tend to take the ball off the end of the bat, go with an ash bat If you get jammed often (hitting the ball off the handle), go with a maple bat.

Also Rock Maple bats are preferred by more pros and provide additional pop off the bat. White Ash bats feature a larger sweet spot, and lower price point.

The basic selection below is for ash. To upgrade to maple, make sure to check that option.

3. Then place your order...
Once you decide from the choices above, set your chosen model number in the order form below. (You can order multiple bats with different specs in the same order.)

Choose from the Phoenix color palette.

Barrel will have a gloss topcoat, no charge. Gloss on the handle is an option - not recommended if you use pine tar.

Due to variations in computer settings, stain lots, and wood grain, colors may vary from those shown here or listed above.
