Are you looking for the same things?
When pro scouts evaluate players they have very specific criteria.
If you're a player you can see what's expected of you. (See other pages under scouting for the players yoiu may be up against - you aren't just competing for the scouts attention, you're competing against other talent out there.) If you're a younger team coach, you can see how some of these qualities may also be part of your own search for talent. (See other pages under scouting for how to run your own tryouts.) These pages include both pro criteria (for older players) and some quick tips for younger teams.

The information presented in this section comes from a number of sources both within and outside the pro ranks. We present it for educational value only, as a guideline to help you understand the process, not something you should take to the bank. We thank a number of people on the evaluations pages for their contribution to the data and their insights. There are others who would prefer not to be publically acknowledge. We understand from the MLB that some information previously published is no longer considered 'accurate'. We're working now to get better information from the Major League Scouting Bureau and will post updates should they become available. |
