We've come full circle. WebBall began as a series of handouts, evolved into the website, and now is back in print. But this is way more than just a collection of handouts - it represents the latest defensive thinking, well supported by illustrations and graphics. What made this Field Manual a more exciting project than first expected: the expand coverage clinic, and the challenges of showing fielding mechanics in multi-image sequences. Head coach, Richard Todd, also uses the opportunity to address specific concerns and present creative ideas for positional play. This is a limited-edition, high-quality print run that will allow you to have WebBall on the field with you at all practices and games.

Prepare your team for solid defense

The core information on which WebBall is built - defensive skills and drills - now in book form. This is the second in our series of WebBall Field Manuals, focused on the mechanics, tactics and tips required to prepare positional players for solid defense.

"Defending Your Turf, the WebBall Field Manual for Solid Defense".

Compiled and edited by head coach Richard Todd, this 160-page spiral-bound manual contains not only the best of our website, but many illustrations and ideas that have not yet found their way on to the pages of WebBall.

Added in Nov. 2009 continuation printing ... 3 new drills plus an expanded appendix with a complete team warm-up routine.

There are tips to help you...
  • scout players and prepare your defense
  • develop teamwork up the middle
  • execute tough fielding plays on the corners
  • cover the entire outfield post to post
  • run drills and coverage scenarios
  • plan effective practices
  • and more.

Printed on high-quality, low-show-through paper in a fold-flat, large-format 8-1/2 x 11" size, allows you to plan your defense at home, plus take the tips and diagrams with you to practices and games. With hundreds of player poses and graphics, you can show your fellow coaches and players exactly where you want everyone to move in a specific coverage situation, or how you want that double play turned.
