When we first came across the story of Roland Hernandez and Rock Bats, it was overwhelming. His level of knowledge about wood is amazing. Some of his innovations are radical - to say the least. And in the Rock Bats all-wood composite he has added to the story with a different approach for stability and performance. - Richard Todd, WebBall

The new science in all-wood composite bats

Composites from Rock Bats feature a maple shell and combination of wood cores plus other wood-science innovations. The result: a bat which will meet your need for quality and performance.

Below is a summary of some of the innovations; for more details on how RockBats are created, click here.

Among the innovations:
  • Composite Performance: To make their solid-wood bats even better, RockBats starts with maple stock then inserts an extra lightweight wood in the core of the barrel, plus an extra-strong, high-density wood in the core of the handle. The result: an engineered bat that which reduces overall weight, and shifts the balance of the bat toward the hands - to provide more bat speed than a solid-wood bat having the same shape and weight.
  • Sweet Spot identification: each bat is tested to determine its individual sweet spot center point, then marked with a diamond sticker.
  • FORCE Technology: RockBats research has determined that Face-ORiented Contact is better for maple bats than hitting of the edge grain, so labels are reoriented. Keep the label up as always and you'll be making contact on the best surface for power.
Follow these steps for your Rock Bats Composite...
1. Start by choosing your model...

Shape is a combination of barrel size & taper which affects swing weight and performance. Rock Bats has narrowed the possibilities to a few best models.

Use the menu below to see and read up on each choice.

Choose from the model list above to review product details. Look for differences in barrel taper, knob, and end-weighting. Length is a personal preference. Because RockBats Composites feature a heavy hickory core within the handle, the -2 weight drop is improved by a better balance and easier swinging barrel.

2. Then place your order...
Once you decide from the choices above, set your chosen model number in the order form below. (You can order multiple bats with different specs in the same order.)

The primary color choice for all composites is called an "inverse" Walker Finish (natural barrel, black handle), but all-black is also available.
