Ron Wolforth and Paul Nyman established the new pitching paradigms. Then along came others, including WebBall, to reinterpret the approach in our own contexts. Now Bill Bethea has put his reinterpretation on video. When contacted, Bill was quick to pay homage to Wolforth, Nyman and other gurus. Because he has done a good job of explaining his adaptations of new mechanics and training, we think this 2-pack has merit. What it forgoes in slickness it more than makes up for in the value of its insights. It's the words and routines I myself teach. - Richard Todd, WebBall.
Build velocity and conditioning with advanced techniques.
Bill Bethea runs a training academy in Texas, is an associate scout for the Houston Astros, and most importantly for you he's a student of gurus like Ron Wolforth and Paul Nyman. In fact this two-title set presents close to 2-1/2 hrs of theory and application, covering many of the key points from these instructors but modified for the way Bethea teaches the techniques and drills at Power Pitching and Hitting, Inc.

DVD#1: Power Pitching: Pitching Mechanics Theory and Application
This DVD features cutting edge ideas on mechanical theory, philosophy, conditioning and development. He covers some of the new teachings on glove-side firmness, launching with your hips, and working with the pitcher's natural arm slot for to follow-through. The instruction won't be unfamiliar to anyone who's been around WebBall for some time, but it is presented in his style with his priorities. 51 min. 2008.
DVD#2: Conditioning and Velocity Development for Pitchers The second DVD will fine tune a conditioning program that can add 5 to 10 mph to almost any fastball! This video starts with 10 plyometric exercises, followed by core work with a double-handled medicine ball and core ball. Bethea demonstrates seven arm warm-up exercises and four arm care exercises to help prevent injuries. Finally, Bethea explains his cutting edge velocity training program using weighted baseballs. This is closer to the original Coop DeRenne approched covered under pyramid training on WebBall rather than the newer Wolforth approach. Sprinting and kettle ball strength training complete this pitcher-conditioning program. 95 minutes. 2008.
