Tom Cat has done the impossible - created a single-piece wood bat with a full protective sleeve that will actually weigh less, swing better, and grip firmer than a conventional wood bat. It's called the "Biaxial Plus" and the secret is the custom-applied woven-fiber sleeve over a straighted-grained, handcrafted, red maple bat. The bat grain itself is revealed only in the cupping and on the knob. The rest of the bat is fully sheathed. The combination of lighter wood and reinforced sleeve make this a great choice for grip and power.
